We went to the Pequot Museum yesterday. We went there because we are studying Native Americans. On our tour we saw mannequins (fake people) and we got to go in a house. We couldn’t take pictures, but they didn’t tell us why. The houses looked like half of a circle. There were different houses. They were covered with bark and straw. There is also an ice cave in the museum. It feels cold and icy, but it is made out of plastic.
We went in a village with our groups. We saw wax people. Now, we know a lot about Native Americas. We saw a white deer hanging upside down. It was gross. We learned that they took the skin off the deer and rubbed it with deer brain. The brain was oily and made the skin softer. They used the meat for food and they left some for the winter because it was too cold to go outside and get food. The bones were used for tools and they could even make a needle with them.
Mrs. Lawless took some pictures. We imported them into iphoto and then we turned it into a movie. Please post comments and watch our video!
Thank you,
Allie and Victoria
