Hello folks,
We started playing Oregon Trail. The Oregon Trail is a trail that leads people to the west of America and it’s also a game on the computer. In the game Alex, Allie, Dallas, and Victoria set off on a journey to Oregon to see our dad in 1850. It takes about 5 months. Before you go on the journey you must get food, animals, reigns, wagon, and weapons to hunt with.
When you are on the journey, you have to make decisions about crossing a river. First we check the river conditions. Next we decide if we should float on it, cross it, or take a ferry. The wagon can get stuck in the river and sometimes tip over.
On land, you can die, almost die, get sick or be healthy. Some things that could kill you are: rattlesnake bites, frostbite, high fever or drowning. So far, Alex is now watching us from heaven. He got frostbite and we tried to warm him by the fire, but instead we should have given him warm liquid.
There are also weather conditions, such as freezing cold or extreme heat. When something bad happens, there is scary music that plays. Mrs. Lawless remembers playing this game when she was in 4th grade. Since this game is so fun, we are addicted to it!
