Happy Friday!

Hello everyone!

Currently while I am typing this, Mrs. Donahue is working with Allie and Victoria on accessing the class blog (Alex and Dallas are away at Science). The two girls are working on topics that they can write about on the blog. It seems like the chosen topic is "How the 4th Grade Works in SBS". We will see what topic Alex and Dallas choose to blog about when they work with Mrs. Donahue on Wednesday (when Allie and Victoria are away at Science).

This has been a productive week! Teachers and students alike are working hard on formal and informal assessments, such as the GMADE for math and leveling for Read Naturally (fluency). In addition to this, there is some great learning going on in math. We are reviewing place value to the ten thousands place, but this group was up for the challenge and we are up to the millions! If you are looking for a reinforcement activity to do with your child, you can dictate numbers to them, and have them write them down. Then ask questions such as, what comes next, what comes before, what's the biggest number, etc.

Coming up next week:
Tuesday, September 21st
Peace Day!

Thursday, September 23rd
4th grade team building on the ropes course (part 1) - please dress appropriately, bring bug spray and a bottle of water
Parents' Night

Friday, September 24th
4th grade team building on the ropes course (part 2) - please dress appropriately, bring bug spray and a bottle of water

Have a great weekend! ~ Mrs. Lawless
